18 Dec 2006 - End of December 2006
End of December 2006
Now that we are so close to the Christmas Holiday and the end of 2006 it seems a good time to think about the Autumn Term.
We started the school year with new children in Y3 and two new teachers.
During the term children have visited Wakefield and York museums and had a residential visit to Hornsea. Sporting events have included football, netball and hockey tournaments with a number of visiting coaches in rugby, street dance and netball.
Our links with Chequerfield Infants have been maintained with groups watching each others Christmas concerts.
Involvement of parents has grown with a good turn out for the Fun with Maths afternoon and Achievement Assemblies. More parents have also visited school to support the Friends of Willow Park Autumn Fair and our first ever Art Exhibition.
The Late Wise Man
Was a wonderful success and thank you to all the staff that helped to get the production ready on time. Many of you have said how much you enjoyed this story of the fourth wise man. Did you know that the Bible does not state how many wise men visited baby Jesus?
A huge thank you also to The Friends of Willow Park for providing refreshments and organising the raffle.
School Christmas Lunch
was enjoyed on Wednesday 20th December. If your child would like to regularly take a school lunch please contact Mrs Atack. To help you decide a copy of the weekly menu is attached. As new menus are received they will be displayed in the classrooms and on the parent notice board.
Class Christmas Parties
The Class Christmas Parties were very well supported by parents sending in food ~ thank you. Children had a brilliant time with games and dancing. Afterwards staff said that they were really impressed by the fun and high levels of good behaviour.
Christmas Carols in Church
Many of you joined us in church for our Christmas Service. The mixture of old and new carols in such a beautiful setting brings this seasons special meaning to us all.
